An old house once stood here in serenity. Its timber frame was then inherited and mixed with new timber directly sourced from the backwoods to create a spacious atrium topped with a charming triangular roof. Large fenestrations were hand-crafted by the carpenters, making use of beams that were also sourced from the old house. Upon entering the entrance, visitors are welcomed by a greenhouse with a floor of Teppai stone, filled with lush greenery that adds vibrant touches to the space and seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor areas. In the single-storey part of the house, an irori (traditional sunken hearth) invites guests and encourages smooth and close communications. By blending the charm of the old with the beauty of the present, the way of life in this satoyama continues to flourish.

自然にそっと寄り添う。
裏山から伐採した木を使用した大きな吹き抜けの空間や、もともとあった古家から大黒柱を受け継いだ三角屋根の空間。
大開口の窓や梁を生かした窓は手づくりでしつらえた。
屋外の空間をつなぐように、随所にお客様が大切に育てられた観葉植物が空間に彩りを与えてくれる。
玄関に入ってすぐに、鉄平石敷きのグリーンハウスにて、植物が出迎えてくれる。平屋の部分には、地域の方と交流がしやすいよう、低い目線で交流ができる囲炉裏を設けた。
古きよきもの、今あるもの、互いの良さを生かして里山のくらしは続いていく。
