Global Design Partnership & Education

Shoichi Sado translates the design philosophy and carpentry craft of Shohei Hishida into architecture, visuals, and words — carrying them to the world. As a design partner on international projects, he engages directly in the creative process, while also sharing the work and thinking of HISHIDA through webinars and educational programs at home and abroad. In collaboration with the carpentry team, he oversees the provision of hand-worked timber — shaped through traditional chopping and chiseling techniques — bringing Japan's craftsman culture to the world as something that speaks to the very essence of what it means to be human.
